The BANQUE MARTIN MAUREL is the result of a merger in 1964 between two Marseilles family owned banks : the BANQUE MARTIN FRERES which dates from 1825 and the BANQUE MAUREL founded in 1929.

In 1978, the Bank opened its branch in Paris.

In 1980, it took a major shareholding in Delon et Gregoire, a Lyons-based bank, which it absorbed in 1985.

Since 1991, the Bank has been developing its private asset management activity through the association with wealth – and portfolio – management companies.

It is one of the largest independent private family owned banks in France with a presence in the main French cities : Paris, Marseilles, Lyons, as well as offices in Aix en Provence and Grenoble.

In partnership with Banca Sella, it created, in the year 2000, a bank located in Monaco, "Martin Maurel Sella – Banque Privée Monaco".

Its capital is practically owned in totality by the COMPAGNIE FINANCIERE MARTIN MAUREL (89%) of which in turn 61% belongs to the MAUREL Family, 16% to the SELLA GROUP, 5% to the PARTICIPATION MOBILIERE ET IMMOBILIERE, 5% to the LABRUYERE EBERLE GROUP.

The bank exercises a commercial bank activity (loans, savings, services) and wealth management. It offers its clients traditional banking services, a wide range of mutual funds, investment products, complete foreign exchange operations and adapted tax and wealth management advice. Its development gives priority to the asset management activity. It provides services and takes care of financial engineering geared towards companies as well as individuals in possession of private fortunes.

The clientele includes mainly private individuals, professionals, small to medium sized companies and organisations for social welfare.
